Re: Tin hats and conspiracy theories
It amuses me to watch this domain name expansion play out. I have been following the field since the time when you could have a domain name for the asking (registered my first few that way).

Before ICANN as created, many industry players assumed that a wide variety of TLDs (top-level domains) was an inevitability. Sevral of them proposed and one actually ran alternate root servers that served up other TLDs (these were never acknowledged by the official roots, so were not widely available). Here's a news item plucked from the ongoing stream of pre-ICANN developments in domain name space.

The dotLED is located in front of bicycle like the indicator of turn signal in the vehicle.

There was actually a product on eBay on April that works this way. However, it turned out to be April fool.

Except the potential list of what is available would be semi-infinite. Every word, every brand, made-up words, two-word combinations... all fair game.

You are correct and I predict that will surely happen either in 10 years or 50 years. The fact is this - it took them years to add other top-levels to .com, .us, .org and .net. They finally did. After a time, they will give up on these controls and we will have full liberalization in the sector.

Instead of hand gloves, LED might be installed the backside of cloth. Driver could control bicycle safely. Big two arrow LED would be displayed in the backside of cloth. One arrow LED indicates 'turn right signal.' Other arrow LED indicates 'turn left signal.' The dotLED is located in front of bicycle like the indicator of turn signal in the vehicle.

It costs $185,000 even to apply for a new top-level domain.

That is a very pathetic situation that gaurantees that Internet assets are concentrated in the hands of few moguls. It is like buying land where you pay and you are not sure you will get the land. It makes no sense to me. How I wish this is like shopping. Check the one that is available, pay and you get it!

I think it's more along the lines of their 60lm/W white efficacy, up from an initial 30. The wimpy blue output power levels can't can't drive any appreciable amount of phosphor, and it looks to me nobody was buying their angle of white LEDS for interior auto lighting. Doesn't seem like their defect densities allow them to make bigger die as a short term bandaid either

Sad, really. They have all the equipment, just that they are spinning their wheels on R&D and have made R&D the critical path - that in my mind is a fatal strategy.

They obviously need to hire me in as CEO and need to do that PDQ. Don't worry- I'll still be here as well :)

Like I said - I think Plessey's love for the speedy EPI manufacturing process has blinded them to where they are going to run out of cash and manufacture nothing, though that nothing will be very quickly.

I seem to recall they hired a Cree guy as a Veep of Sales or Marketing or somesuch. Yeah, he'll make their poop not smell. Like this announcement.

Semiman seems smitten, though

LOL
